Book Review | Confess by Colleen Hoover

 Book: Confess
Author: Colleen Hoover
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

‘Confess’ by Colleen Hoover is about Auburn who is trying to put back together the pieces of her life. While in the midst of that, she meets Owen who she feels a connection to but due to certain issues in his life, she has to make the decision on whether or not it is good for Owen to remain in hers.

‘Confess’ was good. Definitely a great Sunday read although it isn’t my favorite Colleen Hoover novel. That honor is a toss up between ‘Slammed’ and ‘Hopeless’. Oh and 'Ugly Love'! I seriously love those books. They are what turned me into the HUGE Colleen Hoover fan that I am! But I digress…

Auburn and Owen were amazing together. You could feel the chemistry between them. Also, I love how Colleen writes the men in her stories. They literally will nestle themselves in your heart and never let go. This happens every time I read one of her books. The thing I didn’t like about this book was that after a couple of chapters, I had already guessed the issues each characters faced so the reveals weren’t shocking to me. Which is why I said this wasn’t my favorite book from her but that was the only thing I didn’t like which pales in comparison to what I DID like.

Colleen Hoover is an amazing writer who draws me in almost immediately when I begin to read a novel from her. That is pretty rare for me. There are only a select few that can to that (IMO) and Colleen is one of them. The way she wrote Auburn and Owen, I could feel every emotion they were feeling spill from the pages. And don’t get me started on the artwork… It was amazing! So beautiful and a great addition to the book!

So if you are like me and late to the party, go pick up ‘Confess’ and be amazed by the powerhouse that is Colleen. I dare you not too.
