Book: The Sky is Everywhere
Author: Jandy Nelson
Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Jandy Nelson painted a beautiful heartbreaking story of what
grief can do to a teenage girl. Her writing was phenomenal! I purchased ‘The
Sky is Everywhere’ back in June but it sat on my desk (with a stack of other
books) waiting to be read.
I am upset with myself that I took this long to read this
gem of a book.
‘The Sky is Everywhere’ is about a girl named Lennie who is
trying to deal with the grief of losing her older sister. She finds solace with
her sister’s boyfriend Toby and happiness with a new guy who moves into town named
Joe.
This book made me call my sister to tell her I love her.
She is my best friend and our relationship is quite similar to Lennie’s and her
older sister Bailey. I connected with Lennie. I felt her sorrow. Her joy. Her devastation.
Her pain. Which are all things I expect to feel when I read a book by an
amazing writer like Jandy Nelson. Of course you can expect to see her on my
favorite authors list.
Seriously, this book is amazing!
Below you will find more info on ‘The Sky is Everything’ and
details on her other novel…
Happy Reading!
The Sky is Everywhere
Adrift after her sister Bailey's sudden death, Lennie finds
herself torn between quiet, seductive Toby—Bailey's boyfriend who shares her
grief—and Joe, the new boy in town who bursts with life and musical genius.
Each offers Lennie something she desperately needs... though she knows if the
two of them collide her whole world will explode.
Join Lennie on this heartbreaking and hilarious journey of
profound sorrow and mad love, as she makes colossal mistakes and colossal
discoveries, as she traipses through band rooms and forest bedrooms and
ultimately right into your heart.
As much a celebration of love as a poignant portrait of
loss, Lennie's struggle to sort her own melody out of the noise around her is
always honest, often uproarious, and absolutely unforgettable.

I’ll Give You the Sun
At first, Jude and her twin brother are NoahandJude;
inseparable. Noah draws constantly and is falling in love with the charismatic
boy next door, while daredevil Jude wears red-red lipstick, cliff-dives, and
does all the talking for both of them.
Years later, they are barely speaking. Something has
happened to change the twins in different yet equally devastating ways . . .
but then Jude meets an intriguing, irresistible boy and a mysterious new
mentor.
The early years are Noah’s to tell; the later years are
Jude’s. But they each have only half the story, and if they can only find their
way back to one another, they’ll have a chance to remake their world.
