I have been seriously sucking with the sporadic posting
lately. I know I said I would be doing better but my time has been filled with
lots of adulting. Sucks I know… I wish I could just lay in bed all day and do
nothing but read but alas I can’t get paid for that. So, I am here (finally)
with a new post for December! It’s the December TBR List and to be honest, this
will probably be the amount of books I get to read this month. So I’ll try to
make it good!
Ok, Let’s go.
The Bright Effect by Autumn Doughton and Erica Cope
“Maybe promises are supposed to hurt a little.” Amelia
Bright has lots of plans for the future, and none of them involve falling for a
guy like Sebastian Holbrook. With a questionable reputation and an attitude to
match, he’s exactly the kind of guy Amelia promised herself she’d avoid. But
after an encounter that leaves her charged and breathless, she can’t stop
wondering about him and the secrets he keeps hidden behind that tough exterior.
Sebastian knows firsthand that every single choice has a consequence and how a
fragile promise can shape a life. Now that his mother is gone and he’s raising
his little brother on his own, he’s all but given up on a future for himself.
Struggling to keep food on the table and a roof over their heads, Sebastian
doesn’t have time for games or girls. So why can’t he shake thoughts of beautiful,
smart Amelia Bright from his mind? Equally devastating and heartfelt, Amelia
and Sebastian’s story of a rare and unexpected connection is one that will stay
with you long after the last page is read. Full of wit and tenderness, The
Bright Effect is an unforgettable journey of expectations, regrets and
discovering just how far love can carry us in the face of heartbreak.

Blood Ink & Fire by Ashley Mansour
Imagine a world without books... In the future, books are a
distant memory. The written word has been replaced by an ever-present stream of
images known as Verity. In the controlling dominion of the United Vales of
Fell, reading is obsolete and forbidden, and readers themselves do not cannot
exist. But where others see images in the stream, teenager Noelle Hartley sees
words. She s obsessed with what they mean, where they came from, and why they
found her. Noelle s been keeping her dangerous fixation with words a secret,
but on the night before her seventeenth birthday, a rare interruption in the
stream leads her to a mysterious volume linked to an underworld of rebel book
lovers known as the Nine of the Rising. With the help of the Risers and the
beguiling boy Ledger, Noelle discovers that the words within her are precious
clues to the books of the earlier time and as a child of their bookless age,
she might be the world s last hope of bringing them back. Blood, Ink & Fire
is a gripping, evocative tale that asks, who would we be without books?
The Diary of Lexi Ashford (Part One) by Jessica Sorenson
Lexi has always had a reputation for accidentally messing
things up, but she never thought she’d be jobless and homeless at twenty-six.
With no other choice, she returns to her hometown to do a little life
searching.
Lexi quickly discovers a lot has changed in the eight years
since she first left Fairville, a quirky little town in the middle of nowhere.
Most of her best friends from high school are now married and have children,
and her parents have sold their home and are now living in a loft above their
store. One thing still remains the same, though. Anders, her old high school
crush is still as hot as ever.
Determined to get her life back on track, Lexi starts
searching for an apartment and a job. But during a crazy night at one of her
friend’s bachelorette parties, she wakes up in Las Vegas, hungover and married
to Evan, Anders' brother, a guy she barely knows. So much for getting her life
back on track.
The Duet by R.S. Grey
When 27-year-old pop sensation Brooklyn Heart steps in front
of a microphone, her love songs enchant audiences worldwide. But when it comes
to her own love life, the only spell she's under is a dry one.
So when her label slots her for a Grammy performance with
the sexy and soulful Jason Monroe, she can't help but entertain certain
fantasies... those in which her G-string gets more play than her guitars'.
Only one problem. Jason is a lyrical lone wolf that isn't
happy about sharing the stage--nor his ranch -- with the sassy singer. But
while it may seem like a song entitled 'Jason Monroe Is an Arrogant Ho'
basically writes itself, their label and their millions of fans are expecting
recording gold...
They're expecting The Duet.

And that’s all folks! I know it’s a short list but I know
what my schedule looks like for this month. Of course if I can get a chance to
read more books I will! Also, if there are books out there I should be reading,
let me know! I love book recs!
